Sharp Sustainability Education Center

Mahwah, NJ

A pioneer in environmental education,  Ramapo College commissioned this 2,200 square foot flagship building housing an instructional room, office, working greenhouse (future project), and a gallery for exhibits.  It demonstrates sustainable principles and technologies to students, local environmentalists and visiting schoolchildren.  Included are photovoltaic panels, (Sharp Electronics donation), geo-exchange heating and cooling, day-lighting, waterless urinal, wind turbine, and building materials with high recycle content and energy thrifty extraction, production and delivery.
