LA MORA SENIOR HOUSING
NEW CONSTRUCTION
Yonkers NY
Stephen Tilly, Architect led the team that provided the Passive House consulting for this 60-unit multi-family project for low-income seniors, built on a former school site and managed by the Mulford Corp for the Municipal Housing Authority of the City of Yonkers. Integral Building and Design, led by Tony Lisanti, were plan reviewers and raters, and Northeast Projects, led by John Loercher, did the energy modeling for the certification by PHIUS, the Passive House Institute of the US. The building was designed by Perkins Eastman using modular construction and was the first modular multi-family project certified by PHIUS. The team worked closely in plan review with the designers and monitored the construction from the factory to the finish line for conformance to standards for indoor air quality and strict limits on total energy and water consumption.
