WRIGHTIAN ADDITION

Westchester County, NY

The owners of a house designed by an acolyte of Frank Lloyd Wright needed an addition to house their collection of Craftsman furniture. The addition employed Wright’s techniques including projected bays, wide overhangs of low-slope roofs and recessed lighting. Walnut and maple border patterns frame new vertical grain fir floors. The wing distinguishes itself carefully from the original composition and extends into the landscape with rows of individual operable windows.
